Testing Services

We take testing very seriously, and only utilise the best cable testers. Every installation we undertake is 100% tested to the current industry standards, and we can supply these testing services for your existing installation if required.

Category 5e
Category 5e installations are tested with either a Fluke DTX 1200, 1800 or DSP 4300 cable tester to ensure they exceed
ISO 11801 & EN 50173 Class D Standards.

Category 6
Category 6 installations are tested with either a Fluke DTX 1200 or 1800 cable tester to ensure they exceed
ISO 11801 & EN 50173 Class E Standards.

Category 6a
We offer full Alien Crosstalk testing for Category 6a. The certification process for 10 Gig consists of two phases: (1) each individual link needs to be certified for compliance with the cabling link specification for 10 Gig and (2) the Alien Crosstalk performance of the cabling installation needs to be measured and evaluated. Alien Crosstalk is coupling that occurs between wire pairs in different, adjacent cabling links. Alien Crosstalk is a challenge for twisted-pair cabling as it is the most significant disturbance or noise source for the 10GbE application when using twisted pair cabling.
This testing ensures the cabling exceeds the ISO 11801 & EN 50173 Class Ea Standards.

Fibre
Every fibre optic cabling link we install will be tested in accordance with the field test specifications defined by the ISO 14763-3 standard or by the appropriate network application standard(s). Cable Dynamics perform fibre testing to Tier 1 (Light Loss and Length Readings) & Tier 2 (OTDR Trace) Certification. The OTDR is a full featured Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) module that snaps onto the Fluke Networks DTX CableAnalyzer and analyzes traces on singlemode and multimode fibre.
